ローカルからグローバルIPを
外部公開サーバーのFQDNをローカルネットワークからみるとなると、外部proxyを使うとか内部にDNSサービスをもうけないと出来ないのだが、
以前使っていたMN8300はこれが特に意識することなく出来た。
が、最近のコレガ CG-WLR300NNHや
NEC Aterm PA-WR8700N-HP、
BUFFALO AirStation WZR-HP-AG300Hでは出来ない。
ヘアピンNATあるいはループバックNATと言われる機能が無いため上記のようなめんどくさい設定を行わなければならなかった。
この辺りの用語がこれといって決まっておらず、調べるのも難しいよね。

I thought I was insane, or that my Japanese wasn’t good enough to properly configure the BUFFALO AirStation WZR-HP-AG300H that I just bought, because my port forwarding settings were not working. Then I realized they *were* working, but only from outside my LAN. Googling the problem led me to your answer.
I think it is weird that such a recent model doesn’t support a basic feature like hairpin NAT. It’s very annoying when you have a laptop that is used both at home and outside, which needs to access servers inside the LAN. I’ll try to return this router to Amazon, checking the box that says “performance or quality not adequate”. (We had a spare current-model Apple AirMac Extreme router, which I used to replace the Buffalo, and now everything works fine.)
